Video Game High School

I was looking for stuff to watch on netflix and this movie was recommended to me on more than one occasion. It is an indie movie and the description made it seem like a documentary.

I gave in and decided to take a look. I was pleasantly surprised. It is full of video game references and faces of some well known youtubers.

This is just one of the images that made me chuckle.

The story is about a kid who gains admission into VGHS(Video Game High School) after he beats the number one ranked player at the school.

The fact that it is an indie movie actually adds to the charm of the movie. It makes it more about the story than the effects.

Its just your standard kid thinks he's a big shot and loses a few games and then comes back in a big way.

Not to mention Zachary Levi is in the movie. Well who doesn't like to see chuck teaching the younger generation to frag some bitches.

You can tell that the people who made this movie really love what they do. Freddy Wong's effects were awesome not to mention the presence of the guy from Epic Meal Time and some of the guys from 5 second films... oh and lets not forget iJustine.

I just found out that this is a show and not just a movie, and that the movie was just the first season so i'm gonna cut this short and go catch the rest of the show.

Favorite quotes:

"you have to be joking".... "YOU HEAR ANY ROFLCOPTERS SON!!" - The guy from Epic Meal Time.

"I've seen these cat's meow, and it's about to be a fancy feast" - Games Dean

Dota 2

I started playing dota 2 while it was still in beta . I had asked a friend of mine for an invite and he obliged. I had never played dota before and had heard that it had a steep learning curve. I quickly gave up.

I didn't pick it back up until my other friends started playing. So i started playing. After a few games of not knowing what the hell i was doing, and constant crap from my friends i understood how the game worked.

I started playing as support because i still hadn't gotten the hang of the game. My favourite character was - and still is Warlock.

Since then i have racked about 164 hours of play time on that game. (Steam has a nifty counter to tell you how many hours of your life you have invested into each game that you've played)

Dota 2 has become a phenomenon and is currently having an international tournament. The International 3 is one of the largest e-sports  tournaments ever.

the prize for this competition is the largest in e-sports history with 2.8 million and counting. Support from the Dota 2 community has been massive. For every compendium that was purchased the prize is raised by $2.50. That translates to a lot of support from players.

Dota 2 has a steep learning curve but once you get the hang of how the game is played it is quite addictive. Each round of gameplay can last from 15 minutes all the way to an hour and a half.

Watching the game is equally as exciting. Watching the pros play in this tournament really shows you how bad your game really is. Hopefully you learn a thing or two from them and use that to better your game. The better you get, the more fun it is.

Kickstarter

I don't know if anyone has ever funded a kickstarter project but it is a really cool experience.

I just funded my first kickstarter project and it feels exhilarating.

All four styles have identical features. Additionally, the curve is equipped with a flashlight

The Hot Watch is something really cool.

I wanted to support the pebble kickstarter a little while back but it was never a guarantee that it would work with the phone that would end up getting if it wasn't an android or an iphone.

I had always liked the concept of the smartwatch and had always wanted one. I saw this project and i immediately felt like i needed to have this new piece of tech for my day to day usage.

What really sold me on the watch was this:

Patent pending Hands on Talk Technology

Yes.

What you are seeing is the ability to make a private phone call using the watch itself. You hold up your hand to your ear like so and the audio is directed into your ear like magic.

They say that it will ship in december.

I CANNOT WAIT.

Deadpool

Ah Deadpool!

I just started reading comic books this past October and have gotten really into it in the past few months. Although i am discovering new characters and universes, Deadpool was a character that i had always been quite familiar with.

His wit parallels Spiderman

His impulsiveness can go toe to toe with Wolverine

and...

He's just damn funny.

Deadpool is one of the comic books that i look forward to every month and while reading it i find myself chuckling out loud to some of the jokes.

Since Peter Parker was replaced by Doc Ock (The Amazing Spiderman issue #700) and the Superior Spiderman came on the scene, i find that Deadpool hits the funny bone right on the money in a way that the new Spiderman just can't.

Deadpool's playfulness and his ability to make light of any situation makes him a character to watch for.

He had a movie in the works too? I wonder what happened with that?

He also had a relatively successful video game come out recently. sounds like fun. Ill get around to it eventually.

Deadpool is a very versatile character and has been popularized in our culture by many cosplayers at comic conventions.

He has been portrayed as mischievous and sometimes even...

LADY DEADPOOL.

He has also made his way onto key variant issues of other comic books

Deadpool is a cult icon in the marvel universe and doesn't take himself too seriously. He is a funny dude with a rude tude and the book is a good read.

first post

A couple days ago my dad said that i was very opinionated and that because of my interest in movies and getting on people's nerves for being so critical of them, that i should start a blog in hopes that one day someone will read it and offer me a job as a movie critic.

That would be the life.

Watching movies everyday and just writing about them. It might even make me famous, if i just write that one critique that resonates with that one person that could potentially start my career off in the movie critic business.

Instead of just writing about movies i think i'll just update this blog with stuff that comes up along the way. Doesn't just have to be movies. It could be other stuff that i'm interested in.

Movies? New Tech? Video Games? Commentary on news??

Who knows what kind of garbage may end up on this page.

I owe it to myself and the rest of the world to record my views on every single thing that i find worth commenting about so that future generations may learn from my awesomeness and that world peace may be attained through my writings!

Also must find a way to cut lines of text with pictures. bitches love pictures.
